Pastors’ Top NPH Picks: The People’s Bible

In honor of Pastor Appreciation Month, we reached out to pastors across the country for their top three books from NPH. As you follow this blog series throughout October, you’ll discover interesting titles to explore and insight into what pastors think about when selecting and using NPH’s books to minister to their members. What Pastors Love About The People’s Bible

In my opinion, this is one of the most important things NPH has ever produced. It is a remarkably accessible series for the average layperson, and honestly, it is always my first stop as I do text studies and prepare Bible classes. – Andrew Schroer (Redeemer, Edna, TX)

Hardly a week goes by before I pull one of those books off the shelf. – Anonymous

Of all the resources I have in my library, these commentaries are what I use the most in my ministry. These books have been excellent, whether writing a Bible class, devotional reading, or finding a straightforward way to make a point for a sermon. I can always count on them to be faithful to the Word of God in their thoughts and helps. – Jacob Hanneman (Shepherd of the Plains, Fort Morgan, CO)

This was the first NPH book I read cover to cover, as well as my first taste of the People’s Bible series. Mueller’s work sufficiently handled the depth of St. John’s Revelation, but was at the same time easy to understand as a high school sophomore. It’s been 20 years since I read the book cover to cover, but I still remember well the impression that book gave me when I was 15 years old: Jesus wins. – Patrick Freese (Trinity, Abita Springs, LA)

Pastor Appreciation Month is a time to thank called workers for faithfully preaching and teaching God’s Word to us. Not sure how to thank your pastor this year? Let him choose a gift with an NPH e-gift card!
