But What About Questions?
Given that this article is about asking questions, it seems obvious that we should begin with a question, doesn’t it? So the question is, could we agree that asking questions is a crucial tool in the toolbox of the educator? Pause for a moment. Seriously. Pause and think about the question that was just asked.…

5-Minute Bible Studies: For Teens – Letter From the Editor
Dear brothers in the ministry, The teenage years are challenging years for many—spiritually challenging. How often don’t pastors wistfully scan the assembled worshipers with an ache in their hearts because of the absence of many recent confirmands. How many parents don’t cautiously encourage their high school students to include time in their busy schedules for…

Lecture: Still a Great Tool!
In the past years, educators of adults have pushed hard for learning to become more active, more interactive, and more self-directed. And research would seem to indicate that the more active a learner is, the more likely the learner is to remember what they’ve learned. A bit of common sense would tell us that. In…

God Our Refuge: Letter From the Editor
Dear brothers in the ministry, After spending over a quarter century serving as an editor at Northwestern Publishing House, I can safely say that there are few NPH and WELS publications—present as well as past—that I’m unfamiliar with. With this letter to you, I’m calling attention to one publication that had completely escaped my attention…

How About Training Christian Leaders?
Raise up and train Christian leaders. In the call packet, that was one of the requests of the congregation I currently serve. Strong Christian leadership helps steer the direction of the congregation, provides stability, and models for others what…

How About Digging Deeper Into Doctrine?
Is anyone going to want to attend a Bible study that requires purchasing a $45 book, reading assignments before each class, filling out worksheets ahead of the next study, and having discussions about things like postmodernism, the formation of the Eastern Orthodox Church, and the hypostatic union? Surprisingly . . . yes! Or maybe it…

The mission of Northwestern Publishing House is to deliver biblically sound, Christ-centered resources within the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and beyond. As the publisher for and subsidiary of the WELS, NPH has been a 501(c)(3) organization since 1966. This means that NPH is recognized as a non-profit and tax-exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
We have fulfilled our mission for over 130 years. While publishing is much different today than when we first began, our ministry of serving others with the good news of salvation remains. God has blessed NPH with dedicated and gifted servants who daily carry out his work. We are deeply thankful for the people who have been instrumental in our ministry in years past and who play a role today.
To God be the glory!
